Contrary to the vast majority of public and governmental policy, the mechanisms behind cryptomarkets like Silk Road – payment escrow, dispute resolution and user reviews of products – serve to reduce, not increase harm to drug buyers and society at large, says Professor Judith Aldridge at Manchester University’s Centre for Criminology.
